Survivor Philippines castaway collapses in the island

Thursday, October 2, 2008

Regarded as the stronger tribe in Survivor Philippines, the Jarakay Tribe was shocked as one of its members collapsed inside the camp after more than a week in the island.

Auto-mechanic and model John Lopez was tending to the bonfire when he suddenly fell to the ground and his body started to stiffen. The tribe members quickly came to the rescue but his condition needed urgent medical attention.

The medical team rushed him out of Koh Tarutao island and brought him to the nearest hospital in Satun, Thailand.

According to the official rules of Survivor, a castaway is only allowed to be away from the island for 24 hours to address a medical emergency. Otherwise, the castaway will automatically be disqualified from the game.

The Jarakay Tribe was gripped with worry over John's safety.

Jace was also anxious that John's condition might destroy the solid alliance they were forming with Vern.

What caused John to collapse in the camp? Will this signal the end of a strong alliance in Jarakay?
